Post Southern California: Track Event this weekend!

National Autosport Association (NASA) LA-Chapter is hosting the final round of Track Events for 2001 this weekend. The typical events will take place at Buttonwillow Raceway:
- High Performance Drivers Education (HPDE) for Novice to Advanced Hot Lappers.
- Club Races for Licensed racers.
- American Stockcar Challenge. A new Spec series for Road Racing Stockcars.
- 2 Hour daytime Enduro on Saturday.

So if you've ever thought about taking your car onto the track, now's the time. You don't need any special equipment, factory equipment is perfectly fine. Beginners are encouraged. All cars are welcome from Chevy Sprints to GT3's. The only thing you will need is a helmet (SA95 or better), contact me if you need to arrange a loaner or a place to buy them. Entry is ABOUT $200 for BOTH days, about $140 for one day.
Buttonwillow Raceway is just up the 5fwy by Bakersfield.
I am NOT affiliated with NASA in any way. Just trying to encourage all driving enthusiasts to attend their great DE program. If you've ever been interested in getting into clubracing, this is a great place to start.
The REALRIDE RACING Team will not be fielding any team cars as we've already won the championship and the cars are already aprt for next season. But we will be running support for our friends in the 2 hour enduro. Stop by the pits and say "Hi", we're actually a friendly group of guys and we don't bite... OK, maybe Tim drools... but he's harmless.
It's the white Honda CRX ITA car lapping all the Mustangs and Camaros.

Regards,
David

the nasa driving events are very cool. i drove at sears point several months ago, and it was a blast! i did the one-day sunday thing, i think it was $179, and well-worth it.

it was my first track event, and in our novice group of about 35 cars we had everything from an m3 to a chevrolet caprice.

bring a lawn chair to sit between sessions, don't forget your camera, and walk around and check out the other rides. the owners were very nice and love to talk about their cars!
