'88 944 parts book?
Hi,
got the shop manual from the PO of my car today, he actually had it on CD in .pdf form, also included .pdfs of the parts books, but guess what, he only has '83, '86, '87 and '89. I looked on the Pelican site and apparently the parts books are no longer available, does anyone have one? thanks nate |

Can't think of much that would be different parts-wise from an 87 to an 88. The only thing I can think would be different from 88 to 89 would be the larger engine. Any particular parts you're looking for?

nothing in particular yet, but I'm sure I will work it. Nice to have part numbers ready when you're ordering stuff etc. Also looking for an exploded view of the front air dam with the fog light mounts; curious if the mounts are available separately or if i'm going to have to JB-weld something (see my post last night)
Actually I lied, I only have '83, '86 and '89. The '87 file is the owner's manual. nate

All of the Porsche dealers have gone to an electronic parts catalog called "PET". This is a dedicated software program that establishes a web link with the main warehouse for invintory control. It can be used on most any computer that can do a 1200 x 1200 screen rez. Supposed to be an updated version that is easier to use menu wise. Not for personal use. Dealer only item.
You supposedly can still get the 1999 Porsche parts catalog at the dealers. This is about a 1/4" thick paper catalog. Around $7 IIRC. This covers most of the parts. Still leaves some things out. Did you look at the parts pictures that Pelican has on it's web site? http://www.pelicanparts.com/944/944_parts/944_83-85.htm While for the early 944's there are a lot of shared body parts with the later 944's. As to factory repair manuals; these are "out there". You just have to know who to ask for them.
