But it's in the "Faulk" collection. "Only the finest cars sold." LOL 13k would get you one hell of a nice 951.

A car is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.
I think it is great that there are still people out there who value a perfect, all original, unmolested, super low mileage, "timewarp" 944. I only hope that the new owner will continue to store this car *PROPERLY* and not give it to his 16 year old son to race Camrys with. Unlike that 50k miles 944 in the other post, this one seem to have been bought for the sole purpose of storing and preserving. I'm sure that the owner took the time to start it up and drive it regularly. ------------------ 83 944 [This message has been edited by thamlin000 (edited 10-08-2001).] |

I'd be happy to take half of what he's gonna get (for my 83' 944.) Mines not in much worse shape then "The Faulks" car. Lets all remember to give our cars fancy names when I'ts time to sell. I work on my car damn near everyday. And, everyday I wish I had a 951.

Check Panorama guys. I've seen 944 NA's go for 12K. If they are in perfect concours condition, they will command top dollar. Some avid Porsche collector would pay.

True I live in the most jaded automobile land in the world ( southern california ) I almost get hit daily by some ass in a Lambo SV. But these prices are way too high pristine Turbo's are going for that money good Turbo S's and great 968's or a Lotus Esprit add a couple grand more I'll put you into a not too bad 308

Here's another one. My 944 is looking like one hell of a deal right now compared to the reserve on this one.

Reality check on a 2.8L anything with 500 hp. Ain't gonna happen even remotely reliably without race gas and a lot of lag. The head is still only 8 valves with a poor quench area. The 2.8 also only lengthens the stroke - which tends to increase tq more than hp. At 15 psi maybe 310 at the wheels if he is very lucky.

I have an '89 951 that according to my G-tech and Farzaan's dyno page is putting out about 260hp to the rear wheels @ 14.5psi of boost.
I would hope that a MAF + exhaust + increased dispacement would be good for more than 50hp.... Granted the 500hp number is high, but I think 310 is too low. |

When you get that number let us all know...The MAF won't give you much top-end but will help on the turbo response. The increase in displacement will help, but the longer stroke isn't going to give you as much hp as you would like, but like the MAF will also help your bottom end. And if you keep your stock turbo it won't reliabily put out over 300 hp to the wheels, even if it could at 15 psi on street gas.
Trust me - I've been there with just about all the mods (except increasing the stroke). Your money is better spent paying off your mortgage then putting 15k into a 944 which you've already got 15k into, at least if you want to keep it for the street. If you want power, get a Supra which has a 16 valve head, 3.0L of displacement, and a better designed motor than the 944 2.5L (sad but true again). For these cars, IMHO the place to focus on is turbo response and lightweight. Concentrate on the strengths of the car in order to make it faster without sacrificing reliability and driveability and you will be happy with your investment. Good luck, Erick |

Why not get a 930 Turbo for the same price of a Supra? No need to really tune that bad boy up cuz it can spank about 75% of the cars on the roads today
