a friend for my 924S
so ive been thinking of getting a friend for my 924S. the friend im thinking of getting is a second gen rx7 because it looks similar to a 944 but its not a 944.
any of you guys have buying tips on these?

what year are the second Gen RX7, I know in the 80's they had problems with the APEX seals on the rotor, wich made them dirty birds and also loose compression. But I do believe that they made a upgrade kid the replaces the seals with some kinda carbon composite seal. But Im not sure. Only RX7 I was in was the RX7 Twin turbo and man that thing could fly. im lookin for a 86-91, i be looking for the 1st gen too but it looks almost just like a 924, sorta how i think a 2nd gen looks like a 944... kinda odd.
anyways as long as the engine is running for at least a month id have time to get money to put a new turbo or twin turbo motor in it... depending on how much overtime id like to do at work. Oh and to keep it not OT, anyone else think the 1st 2 generations of rx7s look like the 924 and 944 respectively???

Yeh, mistook a 2nd gen for one in a Pull-a-part yard once...the rear hatch was missing so I couldn't really tell till I got up on it.
How bout the mid 300z's ? I have always liked that series. You can pick them up for pretty good prices these days.

well i like the body of a 944 more than the 924 and there are plenty of older 300s i could get i preffer the last body style which i cant afford.
plus a few friends of mine have both sytles of 300zs and i like to be the first of my friends to have some thing:-)

Want reliability, a simple design, cheap parts and a lot of performance potential?
early ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. It makes a great contrast to the 924/944 series.

if i got another sporty car i think itd be a 280z, assuming i did my research and got a good price.
good looking, simple, ive never heard anything bad about them

yeah i thought those looked nice too, but its almost official... a child at my house decided to play with my ebay account today and hit the lovely "buy now" button on a rx7 i was looking at.
i could have just paid the $85 relisting price the seller is paying but i decided there must be a reason for it happening so im going to go through with the deal.
