'79 924. And I still have it. Just finished putting the top end back on Saturday and ran it.

TheCooler 02-16-2004 10:08 PM

85/2 944 That went to Porsche heaven. See my sig for pictures.

914 also, and never again. What a rust bucket/money pit. And lets face it, a 72HP 1.8 is just plain slow.

A 65 912, I got it when I was 16 since then there have been 15 cars, I still have 3 of them. I have issue's??????

I had a 64 VW! Same thing as a Porsche.

Well I have to admit that I did have a 79 924.

Eric 951 02-17-2004 08:53 AM

Must have been a popular 1st Porsche--79 924. British Racing Green(I know, I know) with the spiderweb wheels and the dogleg 5 speed.:)

My 73 VW, practically a porsche! Sold it and bought my 944, hell of an upgrade!

Panzer909 02-17-2004 10:33 AM

1984 944 N/A. Had it for EXACTLY one year (6/23/99 to 6/23/00) until I smashed it into a wall while veering out of a curved tunnel. (don't ask).

Was Montego Black metallic with a rare platinum-finished Fuchs and in pristine shape before the crash. Boy do I miss that car.............

Trevor 02-17-2004 10:37 AM

This was my car the day I sold it, look at the perfectly straight front spoiler. I loved that car. With the knowledge I gained here on pelican I could have fixed it with a turn of a screw.... I'm still kicking myself for that. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1077043058.jpg

Okay...so it's the same car...but it was like a new car. I sent it away to be painted and only saw it once for the 5 months it was gone. After the paint it was a totally different car. :D

Pearldrum,

Your '44 looks pretty sweet after the paint job. I've been considering getting mine repainted. How much did it run you if you don't mind my asking? Did you have it painted a different shade (hard to tell from the pix)?

Yes, the color is much lighter. I have no idea what the old color was, It had been repainted a few times. The new color is a color that is currently available from porsche called "arctic silver". My uncle owns a body shop and he painted it...all I had to pay for were the materials (I got really lucky). He said it would have been about a $5,000 paint job because it had 5 layers of paint on it! Not to mention some hail damage or something that had been repaired wrong...

MixMasterK 02-17-2004 07:12 PM

I almost like that color better than the gun metal grey on my '83.
