Post No wonder we drive porches....

Our own companies don't want to give us anything worth driving.

Yeah...some of those look pretty nifty. GM makes some killer cars for the middle east and austrailian markets too...

Caprice SS

Lumina SS

They also make a bad ass el-camino in australia (different name, but same concept) that is as fast as a camEro. Too bad they don't "import" or what ever they do to the US market...they might actually have some respect from enthusiasts if they did.

Damn...that laser RSR, street Ka, and falcon would all sway me from buying a honda if I was in the market for one...that xr8 pursuit 250 is what I was calling the el-camino in the last post. Why are domestic manufacturers such pussies...do they think we wouldn't like these cars? In the end, turning as much of a profit is what is most important to the bean counters at GM and ford, but when they loose credibility from their homeland audiance, they are going to have quite an uphill battle to gain it back once they realize that people care for more than FWD cars with crappy V6 motors in them.

The original MadMax car was a Falcon XB. Few people around where I live have them on the local drag stip. Import them and then soup up the 351 in em. I think they have been using the Falcon name since the 70's.

Ribs, sure they do. See that 'lumina SS'?

That shouldn't be too far from a catera with a 'sports package' if I remember correctly.

The new saturn (saturn gt?) will be another GM that's offered overseas (another opel, again if I remember correctly), semi-reshaped, re-bodied, re styled, re-semi watered down...

It is a lot like a catera (I remember reading somewhere that it is built on the same platform), except with 17" wheels stock, much better looks, and a camaro SS LS1 motor stuffed underneath the hood. Why are the middle easterners so lucky?

Ford Falcons and Holden Commodores have a huge following in NZ and Aussie. It comes to a head with the Bathurst 5000 race that just ran the other weekend. The Holdens won. They seem to be alot better than the Falcons these days cos even with Tickfords help, the old Ford V8 is getting tired.
