Smile '84 Porsche 944 interior questions:

1: there is a tiny tear in the passenger seat and the psychedelic fabric has ripped for 1 inch. should i just send the seat to a seamstress to attempt repair, or is there new psychedelic fabric available from Porsche. i don't want to rip the fabric any further and i don't want to use seat covers.

2) has anyone used carpet fresheners to keep the carpets smelling "factory fresh". if so what brand is not too potent for cars?

3) what's the best plastic cleaner for the interior 944 trim? right now i'm using that Formula 2001 material. In the 924 we just used moist rags.

4) does anyone have a spare shifter boot that i can get from them for cheap? we were going to get a custom leather one made for the 944 (the 924 has one) but we've decided to go back to original stock for 100% of the car. it doesn't have to be spectacular, but original would be nice.

man i can't wait to bring this car to the concours next year. it's gonna kick butt!

thanks!

obin

Have you checked automotion or tweeks for the shifter boot? Got to be cheaper than having one made.
