Chip it
Supercharge it
K&N it
Turbo charge it
Put a 951 motor in it
Piston it
throttle cam
Yellow sticker it
... ...

It depends on what you want to get from your car and how much you want to spend.

Taking weight off helps a lot. Upgrading the ignition and wires helps. Get a new exhaust system with headers. Bursch seems to be well liked. Suspension work helps a lot too.

Depends what you define as the interior. Ask Obin about his results. He did a huge make over on his 924. You can prolly take off a couple hundred pounds in the interior alone. Subwoofers in the trunk make a big difference. They weigh a lot.

The weight-hp ratio is around 15. Does this mean that take every lb off will gain 1 hp? I'm not sure its right way to culculate.

From what I've seen, do not turbo it or supercharge it... it'll end up a nightmare. You can... chip upgrade ($150-$300), exhaust w/ test pipe ($200-$500 and up to $1,000), K&N ($60), Ignition upgrades ($50-$500), 50-60HP nitrous kit ($600), Bore throttle body ($350), Aluminum flywheel ($700 plus labor), add a stroker kit ($??? ...bet it's pricey, but it would make a 3.0L 8v). Then of coarse you have to beef up the suspension with springs, torsion bars and shocks.... maybe some brake upgrades too..... fun fun fun

how much of a difference would chip, exhaust,k&n, and a low cost ignition make?
why does changing the ignition increase your speed? please explain.

oh, and what year was the 944 changed to when you could add a chip?

chips plug in on 85.5 and newer... the older models can take chips, it's just alot more because it's not just a chip... they get 10-15 HP but you have to pump premium only too.

exhaust can be 10-20 HP depending on how much you do, with the most coming from a test pipe arrangement.

K&N and ignition upgrades don't add much HP, maybe a couple each if yer lucky, but should help with efficiency and gas milage.
