84 944 with 15 Fuch's in front & 16" in rear?
My test drive update:
I got in my 2nd test drive of this sharp looking Black 84 944 yesterday...It was raining the first time so I wanted to check her out fully in good weather... Anyway, My first time I thought it might have the Sport option package because I noticed it had 225 50 VR 16" Fuch's in back... But after looking closer yesterday I saw it had 215 VR 15" in front? Has anyone ever seen that before? It drove fine and looked good with the 16's on back, but I haven't ever seen this combo before? Other then having some whacko electrical issues, I think I want it. It does need to have the full T-belt service, but I think it would be a cool car!

I recently attended a dinner where Jim Pasha spoke to the PCA. He's been racing Porsches for a long time, and at a pretty awesome level too. He knows 944s inside and out, and really pays a lot of attention to ride height and spring rates.
One of the most important issues I keep hearing is "ride height". He claims the 944 (especially the rear) is raised to meet bumper regulations, and most 944 cars are therefore higher in the rear and lower in the front. He says if you can get the car dead level, front to rear, by lowering the rear, then the car will handle much better. I know this does not answer your question directly, but it may have some bearing on how the car is set up, etc. P

Yes, that is interesting...The tires on this one do need replacing (Dry rot) so I didn't thrash it around corners much at all...
Anyone else?

mabey he had a mixed set, and didnt want to spring for the extra to match. If the t-belt hasnt been done, that would be my guess. Id check REAL close to see what other shortcuts may have been taken.

Thanks for your post.
Well, it was/is owned by a doctor...He didn't know about the whole T-Belt issues...The car is in VERY good condition as far as the eye test goes...It does have the usual cracked dash... He now understands the expense of the T-belt/service so I expect to buy it with that in mind...(as well as the electrical issues) But the whole wheel thing is something I have never seen before...

I think the new Ford GT has different size wheels in the front and back..
PO may have done it for some handling preference.....
