Post some people wanted updates!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have pictures but cannot post them for size. I tried to resize with photo shop but it only allows a PDD format.
Intercooler is 2 Saab units welded together. Inlet is on the right and outlet is behind bumper.

Turbo is a Garrett T3 from a 1984 Saab 900 unit $40 with a SVO .60 A/R Compressor housing and wheel. We bought a SVO core turbo for $25 for the housing and wheel. We are using the internal wastegate of the Garrett T3. Boost controller $5

Turbo is mounted and cross over and down pipes custom built at a Muff shop. Pipe is 2.5" Mandrel bent scrounged from exhaust system take offs from other vehicles. Pipes wraped with header tape to control heat. $75

Air Filter is mounted in front of the left front tire outside of the engine bay. Had to remove one of the horns to allow ducting pipe over and down to this location. It will allow cold air to the turbo.

Radiator resevoir is VW relocated to passenger side. Windsheild washer Resevoir is deleted for the time being.

Mass air meter will be located right behind the drivers head light.

If someone knows how to post these pictures email me and i will send them to you so they can be posted.

do you have any idea on when you are thinking of having this kit and done and how much power you would gain from it?

Did you copy and paste the "<"imgsrc blah blah blah line after it uploaded the photos? You have to put that line into your message. If you can tell me the file names, I will be able to put them in this message.

Are you just going to leave the intercoolers exposed like that or are you gonna cover them somehow?

So...is the turbo and everything else installed? Does it run? Does it run good?

i'm sure you could cover up the intercooler with some sort of grill or body part.

This is a $2002 dollar project car, the exposed IC is for performance.

The turbo system is not completely installed yet. Working on it as well as other projects.

Estimated HP in the 200-220 range @ 7psi. Maybe more if we are lucky!

Working on adding the 4 injector ports needed to supply extra fuel to the intake manifold tomorrow.

We are only estimating at this point because we are not sure what kind of power levels it will produce.

But if you look at other projects we have done. Stock block and head, no head studs, stock head gasket, 1984 GTI 1.8 ltr @ 12 psi, 9.5 to 1 compression, made more power than a stock 951.

Stay tuned we will update as project progresses.

Kevin, when I was running 7psi at stock compression, I was doing about 210-220hp, and I wasted a lightly modified 5.0 mustang.
Currently running 14psi with turbo pistons, and I am well over 300hp, as my 1/4 mile time with the G-Tech is about 13.7 seconds

Cool!! I like it!!

Well last year in the challenge, the winner a 73 240z had a 14.0 1/4, but a Dodge Omni ran a 12.8

The contest is a best of 3 different events. Drag race, Autocross, and Show Competition. You have to put all 3 together to win.

If we can get it their healthy we plan on running 10-12 psi for the drag race portion. Hopefully around 275-290 hp. We have a T04 compressor housing and wheel to build a T3/T4 hybrid, just in case the T3 .60 turbo is not large enough on the top end.

Hey Mark ever feel like you are the only SOB left on the ship as it is going down?

Ahmet ask me any question you like here or email me direct. I will answer them all as time permits.

Compression ? your 924s should have the same comprssion as our 84 944, that is 9.5 to 1.
