Future Porsche 944

When will Porsche give us front-engine Porsche Enthusists a new car? I keep hearing rumors of an Audi TT based Porsche but can find any facts. After long Internet searches the closest thing I could find is this:
http://www.motortrend.com/future/concepts/112_0401_fwish/

PLEASE Porsche stop teasing us and give us a new car...

the most likely 4th model line is a neo-928 (wasn't there a post about this yesterday?)

What would be the point of a neo-944? the Boxster is Porsche's entry level model, and it wouldn't make financial sense to have more than one entry-level model. The Boxster is just part of a tradition to which the 944 belongs!

A Boxster Coupe, however, I think would be brilliant

The boxster can stop being produced any time now ... time to apply that technology to a front-engined modern day 944/928 style car.

Yeah, no need for a water-cooled boxer engine. Hopefully Porsche has learned their lesson with the 996.

Plus, did you know that the service interval on a Subaru timing belt is 100K-mi? What were they thinking? Everyone here knows that timing belts last 30K, max.

'99 Subaru O/B, 62K on first timing belt. Could have gone another 40K.

Okay I know many of you applauding the cayenne (some not) and the idea of a Porsche sedan so they can make more and more money BUT..
There was a time when Ferrari was run by Enzo and Porsche was run by Ferdenan, two men who were passionate about building the finest SPORTSCARS in the world. That is why these two marquee carry such an image/aura/reputation/whatever. I don't really buy into the image thing (an auto manufacture is only as good as the last car that came off the production line IMHO) however obviously the majority of the public does otherwise why do we get so much attitude (good and bad) because we drive a Porsche?

Bottom line Porsche has become a another faceless, heartless manufacture that will build anything to make a buck..

a small, light, affordable, Porsche? What and take a chance of offending all the rich posers who buy Porsche to name drop and be seen in them... I don't think so!

I am not for the Boxster (unless it goes coupe, and stays affordable for the coupe), and I would prefer to see a front-engine car and not four door (like the 928 concept). I love the prestige of Porsche, it's just hard to pay all that extra money when there are great performers for $30k...350Z, RX-8, Crossfire, hell even the SRT-4 (and save $10,000). There is defienetly the big market for $30-40k. Even the Volvo S40 and Mercedes C230 are in that range. I'm saying that it's a proven market and Porsche is losing not jumping in. These cars in that range are still quite rare to see.
