Today I was coming home and I was driving on 95 N and I saw this red car in the distance and I told my wife it was a ferrari but I wasn't sure after a couple minute I was finally able to catch up to him. It was an older 400i but it was beautiful. At first I just wanted to admire the car but the guy got on it. I guess he wanted to play. SO I got on it and was ammazed at how easy it was to blow his doors off. He was right on my a$$ up about 95 then I dropped the hammer and as I approached 110 he slowly moved further back and at 120 I let off and he flew by. My wife was pissed but I had fun.

What year are the 400 Ferraris?
I know for a fact that a 944 would wail on a early-to-mid-80s Ferrari Mondail. |

Ferrari 400 are the Chevvy Impala of the Ferrari world. Usually they have a GM autobox. Production was from mid-seventies
to mid-eighties, four versions; 365GT 2+2 (have knock-on wheels, stick shift only). 400 (bolt on wheels, stick or auto, carbs). 400i (injected). 412 (same as 400i only bigger engine). Slow in acceleration but plenty of top end. (if you think 928s are expensive to maintain, try a 400!!) |

I beat every single street car I raced, except for a Sentra SE-R (turbod and before LR wastegate and injectors) in my former 86 951.
That includes a new V-8 Lotus Esprit, new M3, Boxster S, 996, tweaked WRX, C5 vette, etc, etc. At the strip in 90 degree weather, street tires, and 91 octane I ran 108.6 mph in the 1/4 mile - thats fast. An NA will get up to about 85 mph on a good day in the 1/4 - thats not too fast. Suggestion: get a 951 do some mods and then start bragging about how fast it is. Erick |

wolf......the long list of cars you have wasted is quite impressive...except for the fact that most of them probably did not want to hurt their pristine vehicles (new)......and race a car thats over 10 years old..
hard to say if they really gave you a run for your money........... and to begin to brag that you can run 1/4 mile in 108........ I can name you a slew of POS modded jap cars that can run that as well...... if you want to do the quarter mile... get a dogde challanger, plymouth cuda, chevy chevelle etc...........thats what those cars were made for.... personally...if I blew a ferrari away on a good day... I would smiling from ear to ear..... I say hoooray for the little car that could (944na) ....lol |

LOL - can't remember when the last time I heard 108.6 on pump gas in the middle of the summer wasn't fast.
Tell you what ace...take a look at the 1/4 trap speeds for the cars I mentioned...better yet haul yourself down to the drags and do some observing instead of talking... A new C5 vette with chips and FIPK was running 107 the day I went. A new Bimmer M3 was running 103. But they're not quick cars I guess...lol. And they probably weren't really pushing there cars either...lol Hell I probably know nothing about the import scene living here in Southern California Oh and I know - I shouldn't have drag raced my car it wasn't made for it...lol Oh and get ready for the next one...this time we'll do over 110 in the 1/4 on pump gas - in a car that is stylish, affordable, reliable, and handles great...can't say that about any other car that I know of...including the ricers! My car with only chips, LBE, and cat back exhaust ran a 14.0 @102 MPH in the sticky, humid heat of summer, and that was with a real crappy 60' time (I bogged the motor down when I released the clutch, so I had to wait for the turbo to spool). These cars are much easier to launch on the street than at a drag strip...I guess I am not so used to the added traction at a drag strip. If I could get my car to hook up off the line, I know I could shave .3 or .4 off my ET and add a couple of MPH to my trap speed.

Gotta love it when 951 owners slam on 944 owners just because we try to feel proud of our cars.
Not. we know the turbos are faster, boys... pissing contests won't proove anything except that some people cannot leave well enough alone. |

Sounds like you got some sort of complex there Wolf. If your car was so great then why did you sell it? Anyway, just like Fusco said, get off it. We know the NAs are considerably slower. Sorry, but I am a little too wrapped up paying for college to drop 10 grand into a 951. It's not my fault I'm not older and a graduate of college (yet). Anyway, those are good times.

I just like the fact that someone had a little fun with their NA...... |

The NA owners unite...lol
Complex Rollins? Hmmm...read the above posts more carefully...its gets tiring hearing of speed tales in NAs - maybe its just me...lol. Someone here needs to bring things back to reality though. An NA is no Ferrari beater, although a 951 can be, last time I checked. I sold the 951 because it was not practical in the form it was in. Plus I parted it out and managed to make a little money on it. That made me happy. Next car will be less radical and less expensive, but faster. I drive my NA 924S daily. I love it - it is reliable and fun to drive. I have absolutely no problems with NAs, except for 14 sec NAs of course... If I brag about beating up on a Ferrari in my 924S - slap me. That is my only point. Sorry if I have to be the one to seperate fact and fiction...but someone has to do it or else we'd all brag to our friends about our NAs being faster than Ferraris...lol And please guys - don't take everything so personally - I have an NA too and as I said, I enjoy it...just like the rest of you do... I don't know what's wrong with your 924s, or the engine in it, but it must be really slow. My 944 was really slow, but then I put tire gloss on the tires and got like an extra 2000hp. That thing could have taken a brand new 996TT hands down. My 1/4 mile times were in milliseconds. To help the aerodynamics I took the sunroof off, that also reduced weight by around 1500 pounds.

Take a gander as to the model of the 10 second car at http://www.thedodgegarage.com
then check the webpage out....then be like but its a * Car! Granted it breaks all the time...but when it goes...it doesn't handle either...but it goes fast in a straight line... |

I heard that if you put a PORSCHE sticker across your windshield then you get like another 75 hp.
