clutch question
Just got the clutch and pressure plate out today. The symptoms that I had (excessive driveline lash and the clunk going on and off throttle) I diagnosed from other threads as a bad rubber center unit on my clutch. You guys provided the info for an accurate diagnosis, thanks alot, I mean that. You guys help more than just the guy asking the question when you take the time to share your knowledge.
Anyhow, should I resurface the flywheel? I was having no problems that I know of with the flywheel, and don't want to waste time and money that could be better used. But, if it should be done, I don't want to be foolish, especially when it won't take much at this point. For those who took the time to answer my questions about my sensor bracket thanks alot. It came out with the sensor, when I removed the clutch housing. The sensor needed to be hammered out. There was no way to remove the sensor without the bracket.

You should resurface the flywheel. It will only cost you 20 bucks....
You can get some vibration if the surface is not up to snuff. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks, just the kind of response I'm looking for.
Oh, and don't worry about the fun.

Most all sensors stick in the bracket. Sometimes the bracket will break trying to remove them.
As to cheap clutch jobs: If you have done a few clutches then you can determine if the TO and pilot bearings need to be replaced. Same for the pressure plate. You do need to lube the guide tube for the TO bearing.
