I'm a new 944 owner, and long time (30+ years) auto enthusiast. I have purchased a 1 owner 1983 944, with the sport suspension option and the 7"x16" Fuchs wheels. Looking to fill out the rear fenders just a little better, and after browsing a few topics and links here, it seems that 8" rear wheels are a logical swap. However, I've been informed (by Dave at Wheel Enhancements) that the only Fuchs wheel that will work are the 8" rears off an '86 944T. He said no other Fuchs unit will work, and they want $500USD per wheel. Ouch! Any suggestions or comments?

Wow! One owner and the sports suspension! Congrats on the purchase.
Fuchs wheels are one of the most sought-after Porsche wheels made. They are extremely lightweight and strong (they're forged). Therefore Fuchs are very expensive especially 16x8" & 9". Unfortunatly $500 per wheel (top condition) is probably about right. But you can always keep your eyes open for deals. ------------------ 83 944 |

...yup ...spacers.... even with the extra inch.... you won't fill out the wheel wells that much more.... the offset is just not there.......
and for $500 a wheel... not worth it... |
