Which: konis or bilstein?

Hey guys:
So how much of an advantage are bilsteins going to give me over the boge OEM on my 85.5 n/a? I'm having to replace shocks and want to upgrade...the konis are out of my range at the moment but I could stand to wait and save up if there's an advantage. It looks like a set of konis would be about $800 and a set of bilsteins would be about $380 so I'm leaning towards the bilsteins.

Without starting a flame war, what's the advantage to konis over bilsteins? (i've heard that most people never touch the adjustment on konis and bilsteins never wear out or foam up) Is it just prefference & price? Are the bilsteins for $380/set any good or are they just low end junk?

My interests with the car are mostly street and eventually autoX but i don't mind a rough ride if it adds a good bit of performance and i'll be getting 27mm/14mm sway bars in a month from a friend who's upgrading to 968 bars.
Thanks in advance!!
Charlie

either one would be amazingly better than stock. Especially 15 yr. old stock!
