Post speedo

My speedo stopped working and I need to fix it so I can see how fast I'm going when I pass those Fords.

As long as those fords don't have flashing lights, your ok. Until you get it fixed use the tach.

Interesting. Both my speedo and odometer stopped working (common Porsche problem) and I didn't notice at all (for at least 6 months as deduced from my service records). I would notice immediately if the tach went, however!!!

I wonder how many other Porsche drivers are like me? (Actually, I suspect many drivers don't look at their speedometers, regardless of type of car)

Mine just likes to jump from 0-140 in 1 sec. intervals. Need to get it rebuilt.

If you have a 944 model 85.5 and later...the jumpimg speedometer is most likely a bad transmitter (it screws into the top part of the transale assembly).

I believe the common Porsche problem is just the broken odometer.

If your car is an early one, I will bet that it is a broken speedo cable, happened to mine. Easy fix but kind of time consuming.

What year do you have?
