Unhappy New Porsche sport saloon???!

What IS the world coming to?

I read today in 911 and Porsch world that P is about to announce a new sedan that will compete with the BMW m3 etc. class.

This is truly a sign of the apocolypse.

Hey, on the bright side, now maybe WE have somebody to pick on

Angry Its a sad thing

THAT SUCKS, its bad they made an SUV now a wagon, what the f*ck is this Ford, Next they will make a pickup truck and a Hybrid gas/electric Porsche. It truly has come to the end of the world.

It would be fun to be able to pick on someone

I think a Porsche sedan would be cool....

Pretty easy too.......a reworked Audi would be the logical step for them.

The M3, M5, are nice cars, why not have a Porsche entry into that class?

Just my .02.....................BTW, I would love to have a new Porsche sedan to replace the Wifes Passat......

I really don't see what people get so worked up about. The SUV is AWESOME. They are in to making fast cars, so they make an SUV that can dust any 944 or 951 here (non modded turbo..and even some modded) and you complain. I work in Sun Valley Idaho and I see a ton of them. That means more money for Porsche.

This Sedan sounds cool too. Just Porsche showing everyone that they can make cars that are faster/better. What wrong with that?

As long as they don't skimp out like they did with the entry level Cayenne; I'm all for it.

yes, Porsche is planning on announcing the fourth model line sometime this Autumn. It will PROBABLY be a sedan to compete with the BMW M5 and the Audi S6, although experts haven't ruled out a big neo-928 2+2 yet.

This luxury model line will make extensive use of the various Porsche engines, with the base model probably using the 3.6liter straight six, and then other models using the Cayenne's V8 (and possibly in Turbo form), and maybe even an Aston competetor with the CarreraGT's V10.

I can't resist the opportunity to post my stupid photoshop trick. A new Porsche offering to compete with Japanese AWD wagons:

I think it's a great idea. The company has felt the effects of the recession 2 years ago and needs a cash cow.

The car would actually be a re-try at the Porsche 989 - a 4-door that looked like a stretch 928 that didn't get off the ground in the early 90s. The car will be an M5 competitor, due out in 2007 with the next iteration of the 911 (998).

Ok, ok....

I GUESS, since the M3's and A6's do have a race class I can kind of see that.

AND the Pepper is kinda growing on me.

It is just making me wonder what's next, toy sleds and bicycles? ;-)

I would much sooner see an M3 fighter than an SUV, and we already have that.
