Question 85 944 ?

I will be looking at a 1985 944 with 142,000
miles. Can anyone tell me if there is anything special I should check that could cost me big $$$ down the road ? Thanks

There is a lot of stuff to look out for. Check out the 944 FAQ...there is some good info in there. Also check out 944 garage...another site chocked full of information. Well...its 7 AM here...I think I am finally tired. I wonder if I stay concious 16 hours a day and sleep 12 hours a day, if eventually I will rotate around to a normal sleeping schedule like I used to have...god I hate insomnia.

Oh...check out my links section on my website for a ton of 944 related links. You may also want to try the search function for this BBS, since almost every question (including yours) has been answered in great detail in the past. Good luck.

Can you supply us with more information on the car? Any maintenance records? When was the car last serviced? Timing belt changed? Clutch replaced? ETC.

The 944's are very robust cars, provided that they are regularly maintained. That is the key.

Unfortunately the car did not live up to it's
description in the classified add. It was a dog! Some people really dont know what "nice
car" means.
