In case any of you wanted gaugepods for your car, you can order them now, and they should be shipped out within a month. They fit all years 924/44/51/68, but the pre 85 1/2 944's and all 924's require 1/4" of trimming on the bottom to make a flush fit since the dashboard is different. Here is the e-mail I sent out to a bunch of people I have been corresponding with on this project:
"Yes sir...they are ready to take delivery. Here is the latest thread on rennlist discussing this: http://forums.rennlist.com/scripts/rennforums/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=15&t=0017 67 . Price is $39.99 unpainted gloss black or $44.99 with the flat OEM style finish (only in black though) + shipping and handling. They have two pods and fit either of the small gauge sizes (2" and 2 1/16" I think). They replace the entire OEM piece from the dashboard to the roof and look like a quality product. Here is where to order them: http://www.gaugepods.com/944.html . Choose your preferred color (actually, just unpainted black and flat black) and click "add to cart". Then all you have to do is either click "process order online" (the easiest way) or click "print to order by mail" to print out the form and send them a check for it. ETA is December 2001 (a month or so). I am going to order mine now...click on the thread listed above and respond that you ordered your so we know when we have at least the 20 required orders for this product. It has been a long time in the making (I remember in April when I first tried to get this project rolling...it took a couple of tries, but shet...we finally got it), but we finally got it done. Thanks a lot to keith for being our little gaugepod *****. Go buy them, if you still want them. -ribs" Also, if anybody knows Yuen Chun's e-mail address (or if Yuen is reading this) either send it to me or make sure he knows that he can order his gaugepod now. His old e-mail address is defunct. Thanks for reading guys. ------------------ ribs '86 951, guards red, tan interior, APE stage II, LBE, 3" cat back, 17" 993 replicas, needs everything rubber replaced except the tires! Also, if you don't know what a gaugepod is, here is a picture of one installed in an NSX. It is the plastic piece holding the 2 gauges on the a-pillar. The fit and quality of our piece should be similar to the one in this photo:

Has anyone installed these in their 924/944 yet? If so, how do they look? Post pictures of the product installed in your Porsche so that we can all see. After all, pictures are worth a 1000 words, especially on a Porsche.

They haven't made them yet (they are waiting for 20 people to pre order them before they make the mold and start to manufacture them). Keith played with the prototype and had some pictures of the hacked together prototype that was used to assure fit and angling, but the pictures dissapeared, so I will ask him and see if he can re upload them.

I am going to ask a stupid question, but what gauges do you need to add? I have a turbo so I already have a boost gauge. Just curious.

Air/fuel mixture, shift light, oil temp, additional oil pressure gauge, Trans Oil Temp gauge, Engine coolant Temp gauge, Fuel Pressure gauge, and on and on can go in there. I am prolly going to do air/fuel and boost, and put other gauges that don't need so much attention elsewhere. As far as already having a boost gauge...the stock boost gauge is woefully inadequate because it is for one inaccurate, doesn't have much resolution (1/4 bar incriments...what does that mean to you?), and is electronic, while mechanical boost gauges are much more accurate, real time, and are easier to read...not to mention eye level so you don't have to take your eyes off the road.

You don't really NEED any of these gauges. They are just fun for the guys who like having lots of lights to look at...lol.

I am adding boost and air/fuel ratio gauges for my protection when I chip and raise boost.
