Should I Apply Dielectic Grease to Speedometer Sensor Clip?

Having intermittant problems with my speedometer/odometer. I think I have isolated the problems to the wiring where speed sensor connects to the wiring that runs up to the cockpit. Would or could dielectric grease help me to maintain contact in this area?

For the record, I do not think that water is related to the problem, more like shock input, oh and yup, my trans is rigidly mounted. I can't really explain it, but it acts as if the chassis and the trans have some relative motion that allows the wiring to the speed sensor to be pulled on which in turn kills the signal to my speedometer. Was wondering if dielectric may help hold everything together?

Had that problem..yank steering left or right and speedometer/odometer would start working or just jump. The speed transmitter sensor shaft is gone. Replacement of the transmitter that screws into transaxle was the answer for me. Good luck

Interesting thought. I may try that... although I will try the dielectric first (cheap). I haven't noticed the problem so much with steering input as when the suspention goes into jounce.
