Used 9201s
Anyone have (or know where I can find) a used tensioning tool (the 9201)? There are a lot of them out there and I'm sure there are some that people have that no longer own the 944s they once serviced. If worst comes to worse, I'll probably just eat the cost of a new one eventually, but if anyone knows where to find one cheaper. . .

I had the same problem a month back. The cheapest I found for a new one was Sunset Porsche at $489. My local dealership wanted $680. OUCH. I posted on the used parts page and on the 944 forum that I was interested in a used P9201. I got a replya day later and closed the deal a week later. I payed $375 for the tool and calibration bar. That was including shipping. The tool was in perfect shape and looked brand new. I hope this helps.
I feel liberated.... I can now touch my belts! |
That's kind of what I'm looking for - awesome thanks for the help. . .
I'm going to need that, the pin spanner, the flywheel lock and a 27mm socket of some sort (I'll probably get a socket and a wrench of that size to be sure) right? |
The flywheel lock I bought from Pelican for $35. The 24mm and 27mm wrenches I purchased from Bruce Arnn from arnnworx for $25 + shipping. Bruce was awsome and responds very quickly.

Cool, thanks. I'm probably about 3-4 weeks off of this purchase, but I'll keep it in mind.
