Automatic To Manual Conversion.

Hey guys, remember that parts car that i wanted to buy for 1000$ Canadian?

Well, it turns out that the car is in DAMN good shape

It's an auto however.

Is it difficult to convert the car from auto to standard?

I was gonna sel my current car for about 4000 Canadian, buy this thing...do a 951 Engine, Tranny conversion..the whole nine yards..

Im just concerned about the auto to standard conversion..

Has anyone done it? and is it difficult?

Off the top of my head im thinking:

-Clutch Slave Cylinder
-Clutch Master Cylinder
-Clutch Pipeline
-Clutch Feed line
-Pedal assembly
-Brake Fluid Container

Where would i mount the master cylinder on the firewall?

Also, where would i be able to mount the pedal assembly...

I need to know stuff like this..

Please keep in mind however. a 951 Transmission and most of the necessary components will be going in this car..as well as an engine.

Some basic algebra for you.

a= (buy the auto and part it out)
b= sell your car
c= what your time is worth
e= bastard 944 (auto conversion from manual and then swap in turbo engine)

a + b = 951

or as you would like to do....

a - b + 951parts = e + c

e in your equation will be worth less than the otherside..... so you must balance it by wasting your time

someone did just that auto to manual transmission swap only the other week and wrote about it either here or rennlist (i think rennlist). He said it only took him a weekend - a flipping busy weekend i bet!
Do a search within the last month and you should be able to find it.
