Please help: Power Window fuses blowing like crazy

Ok, my driver's side window hasn't worked since I got the car almost an year ago, but it was winter and I figured I wouldnt need it, but now I took out the regulator and the motor for my driver's side, I tested the motor from it by hooking it up to the passenger side wire which did work and it didn't work so I figured it was the motor, I went inside and cleaned the contacts with some Noxon-7 its a metal cleaner, I tiried it again, this time back on the driver's side and it magically worked. I was beginning to put back the regulator and everything in the door when I hit the button to test if it still worked and the fuse blew. I tried another fuse and again, same thing. I tried yet again this time thinking some wires had been touching that were exposed so I covered them up with electrical tape...but nope, still blew another one. I don't understand what is going on. I thought maybe it was the driver's side fault so I disconnected it again, but it still blew. I have no idea what to do, I can't keep going through all these 30 amp fuses. Do you guys/girls think its the cleaner I usesd? It has ammonia so it might be conducting a circuit between the 2 contacts and causing a short circuit. I was so happy that the motor was working finally, now this.

I wouldn't suspect the cleaner unless the thing was still wet, otherwise there'd be no way for it to conduct). You obviously have a short someplace though - maybe one of those connectors popped off or some of the wire insulation got scraped off during install? I'd be lying if I said I hadn't had things like that happen to me. . .

I have a problem with my window too but I can't find the fuses. They aren't listed in my Porsche manual. Where are they at all?

You will most likely need to replace the window switch(s). The rocker inside the switch is shorting out. The switch has two s-shaped copper like strips that breaks or get out of position. The switch is not terribly expensive. The switch circuits are in series and all need to be connected for each to work. (at least on 85.5)). Just need to figure out which is the faulty switch. A fault switch will cause the window power fuse to blow as soon as there is power to the circuit with a servicable fuse installed.

thank you very much cebu and to all theose who helped. I pulled one of the switches that felt a little off and opened it up there were the 2 s-shaped contacts inside and 2 little balls they were out of position and I was able to put it back together after about 20 tries because the little balls kept popping out of place everytime when I'd snap the cover back ok but I was able to do it and no more blown fuses. Thanks a lot to everyone, I have a few other problems still
1. Starter makes noise-pulled it and took out chunks of metal
2. Headlight assembly won't work with the motor (motor just spins)
3. Coolant leaking (looks like it maight be waterpump) but might be upper coolant hose just don't know where to find the upper cooling hose. I will make new posts for all these problems and would appreciate any help.
