cv axle quest.
what is the easiest way to figure out which on of my cv's is going out? under any type of acceleration i can hear a small metallic noise and the faster the acceleration the faster the noise is. i can't tell which side it is coming from from inside the car when it is in motion. any suggestions?

I get a couple of friends really soused and have them lean out of the back with the hatch open while I make hard power turns in a parking lot.

If you think its the CV's then take them off and repack them. Its a messy job but not that difficult. Be carefull not to trash the 12 point bolts that hold the CV's on. Once you clean them you will be able to see wich one is bad.

Are they the original CVs? If so, a general rule of thumb is the driver's side is usually the first one to wear, as its close to the exhaust that dries it out faster.
