ok, simple question about the heater
the story goes as follows: i bought a heater control valve for my 83 944na and i was looking tonight, it wsas the wrong part. i need the vaccuum part and not the cable operated one. i guess there are two hoses that operate the diaphram. I don't see the vaccuum lines. BUT i see the vaccuum operated part.
what is the name of the part? and where do i get it. i looked for it in the diagrams on this website but i couldn't find it to point it out to you all. hope you can help |
the early 944 used a cable to open and close the heater valve - no vacuum was required
The correct part number for the heater control valve for an 1983 is: 944.572.085.02 AFJuvat |
there is one piece that looks like a vaccuum operated deal right off the head ( i think, i'll have to look again). it is in line with the heater valve and it looks broken

Pelican Parts has this but no pictures:

I think I might know what you are talking about.
The little valve-looking thing with 2 vacuum lines on it? It's after the fitting on the block, before the heater control valve. It's a temperature operated vacuum switch, so apply a vacuum to the charcoal canister. Maybe I'm way off base. |
Found an image of the vacuum operated heater valve for the later 944's.
