Radiator and Lower hose...
Well, I was out driving with my friends and had some lower hose leakage.. :P so had to get it towed.. man what a long day... anyways... question...
I have 83 944 and seems like upper part of radiator mount is kinda loose... it goes back and forth when i shake it... is it normal or am I missing a screw on the top?? 2nd, seems like my lower hose (attach to waterpump) got chewed up by the radiator fan since the radiator mount is loose and got a pin hole and started the leak... does this happen a lot? thanks...

Same thing happened to my sisters 84. Her problem was worse cause the radiator hose was eaten by the PS pump, we don't have to worry about that though!
There are two lower radiator rubber nubbs and two upper ones. The upper ones are held on a bracket which is bolted down. The two lower ones simply push in place into the frame. Your two lower ones probably sheared off after aging and is causing the looseness. It's not hard to fix, you need minimal tools, but putting the radiator back in correctly is a PITA. EDIT: I looked all over for early 944 mounting nubbs and couldn't find them. I used Ians at www.944online.com. You'll have to e-mail them what you want. They are very quick and relatively cheap. 944.106.155.00 is the upper mount 944.106.153.00 is the lower mount BTW there is a difference between the early/late mounts and hoses.
