996 Turbo wheels ---> 944 ?

Has anyone fit 18 inch 996 Turbo wheels on a 944. Can it be done. Any tricks??

Well, somebody fit some 18" wheels with something like 285 tyres on his 944S2. These weren't the turbo wheels, but it comes pretty close.

I think you'll need some pretty heavy spacers and this will result in replacing your bearings 50% quicker...

The year of the 944 makes a difference.

Any later wheels will fit with the right spacers.
Possible detriments:
Wheel bearing thing
18" is not recommended by the factory.
Grassroots motorsports did a study that showed performace tops out at 16/17/
Positives:
Looks


No real tricks...have to remove the hubs to put on the spacers.
If you do it I would love to see the pics.

The car is an 86 Turbo if that helps.
