Decissions....decissions.....HELP!

As you know from my previous post, I am a new proud owner of an 84 944. Well, just last week I got an oportunity to purchase an '86 with 180K with records going all the way back to it's birth. Recently installed new transmission and new clutch.

Here is the comparison list

'84

- 160K
- Rebuilt Engine (140K)
- Rebuilt Clutch (140K)
- Rough interior
- A/C blows out hot air
- Need to do all the belts, water pump, seals, motor mounts, CV Joints, brakes, etc, etc, That's the extent of my knowledge.

'85
- 180K
- Engine not rebuilt but extensively maintained with all records going back to '85
- New trany and clutch
- Cold A/C
- No existing problems
Could be mine for $4000

I am inclined to buy the '85 and use it as an "almost daily driver" and slowly bring the '84 back to life, then either sell it or turn it into a track car.

Any advice suggestions appreciated.

Sticking with the '84....it kind of grew on me sitting in the driveway. I've gotten a couple of things fixed already. This weekend will embark on the motor mount/belts/seals/water pump, etc... fiasco. Will keep you informed of my progress.
