gauge colors

I asked this before, (long time ago), got some conflicting info. My gauges are brown with yellow numbers (1984 944). What colors are the gauges in the 924S and are the units directly interchangable with the 944 units? Thanks.

THe 924s are white numbers on black with red needles - I just got a tach for my 944 out of a 924 and it APPEARS to be directly interchangable (haven't tried it yet). I've also heard from everyone that they are.

Asking if you should replace that timing belt is like asking if you should re-use a condom that may have in hole in it with a hooker.

I have an early 85..It has black faces with yellow numbers.

I was going to do the white face conversion...but decided not to. I bought them, but now there sitting on a shelf.

Ihave heard the 924 gauges are interchangable.

nah...the only reason to look at the gauges is to compute the gas milage to make sure you dont push the little needle less than 20 mpg

my '78 has white gauges, red needles. If i could paint over them with a flourescent paint and switch to black-lights... oooh... that would look cool.

Brando - you can! This is sort of what i'm planning to do. superbrightleds.com sells mini wedge-type leds in various colors, including blacklight..I'm thinking they'll make my white faces glow quite bright. I'll post pictures of the results.
