The bus f*cking SUCKS

I just thought i'd let you all know... It's always and i mean always a good idea to have a backup vehicle for when your porsche dies.

This weekend I'll be replacing my pilot bearing that took a crap on saturday. Not to mention all of the "while I'm in there..." work. Oh god... I'm turning into overkill...

..ya..and are probably faster than the N/As too.

The bus rocks! I thought much the same as you when I was 17 and had a job in Downtown Dallas. The commute was only 15 miles but 45 mins. long, I took the bus every day. First week sucked, then I found myself liking it. Perfect time time to relax, and take a nap. However, taking Greyhound from Memphis to Dallas in 13hrs. did suck, which I did several times. With that said, I bet my car craps out on my brother today!:(

Does that mean we can expect some nice JB Weld repairs? With lots of pics of course.....please..:D

Most definitely. If i could even sell this thing for $1000 i would have made $500 on it.

When I lived in Decatur Georgia, and worked in MidTown Atlanta, I wrecked my vehicle and had to take a bus to the subway every day. I would come home at 11:00 at night sometimes through downtown Atlanta, not a safe place whatsoever....

That will teach me to wreck my car, another car, with no insurance... DOH !!!!

well, do you have all the parts for the fix ???

pokey 06-10-2004 03:54 PM

I miss my bus... VW, 2.2 L with a SPG roller crank Dellorto 40s, it was fun. The engine went into my 61 Ghia after the bus got hit in a parking lot, that was even more fun.

Brando 06-10-2004 06:21 PM

Yes don, all parts will be in tomorrow around noon. Going to the mechanic's place to get 'em.

Unfortunately he wont be around over the weekend SOOO i get to do my work in the street. Dad won't give up the garage overnight but i can use it during the day... Just have to figure out a way to get my car back in during the day... Got a wynch?

And pokey... a 2.2 with dellorto 40s... in a ghia... oh man, that's gotta be one sweet ride...

Don 944 LA 06-10-2004 07:23 PM

do you have a " Come along " ???

maybe hook it to a strong support in the garage and winch it in there.

You may be able to rent one at a U-Haul or AutoZone or something.

I should be able to come up Saturday about noonish. I have some leftover $$ from clutch job for gas.

Final verdict: Parents stepped in and said they'd pay for a transmission shop to take care of it.

Don 944 LA 06-10-2004 09:33 PM

whooo hoooo !!!!!!

gotta love that...

helps to have folks that also have P-Cars..
although, their engine is on the wrong side.

mattdavis11 06-10-2004 10:07 PM

Wrong end, Don. Worry about the righties when someone has a steering problem. J/K, of course. Glad it all worked out Brando.

Brando 06-11-2004 12:37 AM

Me too... *phew* means i'll make it to that bootay call saturday night ;)

Update:

Took the car to a german car specialst on the border of Corona. Good thing is he knew of my my friendly mechanic Jay Ward (Porsche Specialized). He estimated about 800 for a pilot bearing and clutch replacement. I should have the car by Tuesday, Monday earliest. Im so glad my parents decided to cover this :D
