Ac Help Please

i have an 85.5 944 the ac swetich is gone i was told i had to relace the whole ac heater control unit. is this true ?? if so does anyone have on for sale *(its the new style 944 dash )

I believe that is correct. From the dealer, they are insanely expensive (I believe 500-600 bucks). Check around for ppl parting out cars; you can probably pick up a used one for about 100 or so.

Check salvage yards, if you get lucky you'll find one that the dismantler doesn't know what the part is worth, and you can get one cheap. ********** has them for like 325 IIRC

Try contacting Parts Heaven or Oklahoma Foreign.

The AC switch (the one with the snowflake on it) is available as a seperate part. It has to be soldered into the circuit board, which is not too dificult. The part number is 944 653 922 00, about $54.

I just put a new switch in the slot where my dash dimmer light dial was and connected it to the ac. Seems to work fine. Sure its the switch and not another relay?

yeah the switch its missing gone not there its not the relay if you have the early model 944 its not the same u need a 3/85 or better
