HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....I need a new (free) download for a firewall/pop up blocker.

I was running Zone labs version, but it quit working after I updated it and now I cant seem to reload it and have it work.
I am being buried with pop ups and crap!!!!!!!

Anybody have any links to something else?????...:confused:

Now in the final stage of install, my screen blinks then says
"dumping physical memory"
"Physical memory dumped"
And locks up......:eek:

I just use the one on the google bar and Yahoo bar.

Both are free

Also, I use Bullguard antivirus / firewall. I don't use the firewall cuz I have a router.

Bullguard is free for awhile, and is very good for a firewall.

and those bars are spyware... i know these things im gateway tech support.... if you get an ungoddly number of pop-up you have spyware installed on your computer. those popup blockers just mask the spyware thats on your computer. download spybot search and destroy, run the updates, then click the check for problems. after that click immunize.

download spybot search and destroy from download.com then get "pop up stopper" free edition from panicware.com.

I have Spybot already, updated and immunized.......still getting a BUNCH of crap..

I will post one more suggestion, but I may move this thread at some point...

Make sure you don't have other spyware installed on your computer. USUALLY browsing is not as annoying if you don't have any of these programs on your computer. Go to add/remove programs and see what's installed.

Please try to keep posts like this to a minimum on the technical boards, you know we have OT boards w/in Pelican.

format, install RedHat 9, get Mozilla FireFox. No more problems, ever.

AdAware is good for spyware on win boxes: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
AVG makes a nice little virus scan also. Good luck & whatnot. Give the penguin a try also :)

use a natural popup-blocking browser like Mozilla, Firefox or Opera.

Pelican has an agreement with the computer tech boards: We don't talk about computers and they don't talk about 944's.

Really think there should be a computer help section here. It's not like we are using pidgins to send these messages back and forth.

use netscape....enable popup blocker. You wont get any crap. most spyware is optimized for IE
