Rear tire size
What's the largest (Widest) tire I can stick on the rear of my 84 ....with stock 15" Fuchs....It's my daily driver and I'm looking for the "cool" factor......also anyone have any experience with the flush headlight conversion from GT Racing......

245's
Dunlop sport 8000 I think is the only tire 'approved' at this width. Looks real mean!

I have seen 285's on 7" Cookie Cutters, but the sidewalls were so pinched it looked absolutely goofy.
"Widest" is not automatically "coolest" |

Im currently running 245 50 16s on 16x8 rear rims,and 225 50 16 on 16x7 rims up front..(BBS meshes))..This is on an 84 944 that just had a complete stock suspension overhaul..I have no issues with rubbing or drivability at all..Car handles just as well as my highly modded Mitsu Starion...

Did your bbs's come with the proper offset or are you running spacers?

No spacers here..I previously had 225 50 16s on all corners..I didnt want to get into modifying the suspension being it was a daily driver,but couldnt stand the gap inbetween the rear 1/4 and tire.I was told by most that running a 245 50 16 on the rear could be a problem,that I should go 245/45/16.I decided to see for myself.Ive been modifying Conquest/Starion turbo cars for many years and for those who dont know,the 944 and Starquest have a whole lot in common in every aspect.The thing is the Starquest runs a 16x8 225 50 16 front, and 16x9 245 50 16 rear combo from the factory.As stated above the Starion body and suspension are very similar to the 944,so I figured why not bigger rears on a 944??Turns out it made a quite a bit a difference for the better on my 944..Filled out the 1/4s nicely,and improved handling for the better...
