944 Timing Belt Change Interval

I'm looking at a 944S2 with 105K miles. The timing belt was last changed at 77k, four years ago. I know the owner manual says to change the belt at 45k, but since rubber ages with time, I think it should be changed ASAP. What do you readers think?

Do the belts, water pump and seals and have a look/replace the timing chain tensioner too and life will be good.

It wouldnt hurt to do it, better to be on the safe side. Has the car been sitting?

I would take a chain pad, balance and timing belt with me and put it on the car BEFORE I drove it away.

I had my car dropped off at the shop and pushed in before I have the p.o. any money. It had also been 6+ years since the last change. I would have the belt, pump, tensioner, and pad changed asap for peace of mind.

A badly tensioned NEW timing belt is better than an old questionable timing belt.

Yes, change the belts asap!
