Need help with auto trans
Well i think the selector cable or something to do with it on my 1987 auto 944 is busted. There is no resistance when shifting from drive to park or anything and the car is permanently stuck in park regardless of what gear it says i should be in. I tried to get to the cable through the actual transmission housing in the car but there was just a mess of wires and i couldnt get deep enough. I'm figuring i need to jack the car and fix the problem from underneath, but i would really appreciate some pointers on what exactly the problem is and how i should address it.

The selector lever may be loose on the trans. Drivers side behind the axle.
