HELP...High Pitched whine after head gasket and oil cooler seal replacement...HELP
I finally finished the head gasket and oil cooler replacement on my '86 951 and everything that goes with it!!!!!
The bad news is that when I fired it up it had a very loud whining noise which gets louder as the throttle opens. It souned like one of those crazy turbine engines. Anyway so I went driving around the block and the car seemed to have really good pick up and hit what seemed to be full boost. Then as I decided to get it home to check everything out the car just shut down. What would cause it just to shut down? All of the lights stayed on, it did not stumble, the engine just shut off and now it is a couple of blocks away. I did have some problems hooking up some of the vacuum lines. There are two lines in particular that I can not figure out where they go. One that is at the lower center of the fire wall at the back of the engine that looks kind of like a black fuel filter and the other is a off of a white plastic tee just behind the oil fill cap where two 1/2" black hoses connect and then a small vacuum line comes off of it, where does that go? Anyway I will take any advice....Please Thanks,

I was doing some searching it seems that the whine is most likely my timing belt, I will fix that but why did the car shut down and what is up with all of those vac lines?

Okay, Maybe I am posting too quick, I just went back to try to get my car going, I really did not want to leave it on the street overnight.
Good news, it was some damn electrical connector behind the back of the engine that was disconnected....whewww that was easy. But I still have the vac line question. The vac lines I am talking about are not listed in the manual with the vac diagram, like the one you can find at clarks garage. Anyway, I could still use some help. Thanks,
