fuel gauge help!
i have an 88 944. i was driving the other day, and i had roughly a half of tank of gas left. when i hit a slight bump or dip in the road, the fuel gauge will goo all the way to empty like it's loosing a signal or ground. after i drive for a few miles it will function normally or cut the car of and turn it back on it will be normal sometimes. anyone had this problem and have an easy fix?
thanks

Sounds like a bad tank sending unit. See if you can find a used on on ebay. Easy to take out and replace.

You can also remove the sender, open it up and carefully clean the contacts on the resistor wire and the resistor wire. I had the same problem on my 77 924, would go from full to empty on bumps. Was very easy project and completely fixed the reading.

I have a sender. $20 shipped. I replaced my sender with a digital sending unit. It worked fine before.
