It doenn't seem like I'm getting very good spark for ignition, does
Bosh make a higher output coil? Or am I missing something in the electronics system? |

No. The Bosch coil is most adiquate for the 944. I would check the dist cap and rotor and see if the ends to the spark plug wires have corroded and pulled out of the connectors under the weather boots. Especially the coil to dist wire. If you can bend the spark plug wires and see cracks they should be replaced. You can get just the wires as a set from www.kingsborne.com or the full set with the ends.
What test did you use to determine that you were getting weak spark? There is more to the engine electronics than just spark.

SoCalDriver: I have gone through every thing that the Haynes
manuel shows. what it is I'm not getting a bright blue spark. That's what it should be, correct? This is my first Porsche! I already can feel they are very tempermental! ha ha. I know my way around cars, have been doing back yard mechanics for many years, and I also realize that every type is different, from the other. So. could you reccomend a better manuel, Haynes is OK but I know there's better! pelican doesn't have the 924 shop manuel. thanks again jon |
