924 Carrera GT fenders Instelled.

I finally finished the interior on my 924 Turbo S and got started on the Carrera GT converision for the body.

Front "euro" 944 fenders installed (note the side marker lights) with 16x7" Fuchs mounted. Just waiting for the GT nose, rockers, rear flares and tubs to arrive from IFC.

More pics and conversion detials to come.

That interior is gorgeous! White and black? Black and beige? Looks like beige. Very nice.

Nice, nice car in the making.

Great looking interior.....but is your shifter boot brown or black? Not sure if that's just the light or not.....

The color is black and beige. Most of the parts including the dash are all new old stock stuff that I have been collecting over the years.

The shifter is now black. The interior was originaly camel and brown.

I'm getting all the fiberglass GT parts from IFC. The fenders are OEM sheet metal "euro" 944 fenders. Yes, they will fit a 924S.

The 924 Turbo "S" - Rather than retyping everything, I pulled this description form a fellow S owners site. My "S" has the G31 LSD tranny. The code the Turbo S is M471.

Quote:
Many people have questioned what the "S" designation is all about. There was only one year (1980) for the 924 Turbo S. The S option included 4-wheel disc brakes (same as the 944 introduced in 1983), 23mm front & 14mm swaybars, Koni adjustable sport shocks, 16x6" alloy wheels with 205/55/16 tires, and a slightly higher ratio steering rack to make turning the wider tires easier. Some cars came with a large "S" decal on the hood, some not.

There were several other "S" models in the 924 line. The 1979 924 S included much of the same as the 1980 Turbo S with the exception of the '79 using 15" wheels and the steering ratio didn't change. Lastly, there was the '87-'88 924S, which was really just a 944 with 924 fenders.
