Make sure you read the rules for whatever race class you want to run BEFORE building the engine.

S2/968 crank makes it a 2.8 doesn't it?

Im not to worried about the racing class, with the mods I have now Im already in the GT class

I wonder what's involved in putting in the 968/3.0 water pump.

I'll look up to see how much you need to bore the cyls.

fast924S 07-04-2004 08:01 PM

Yea It looks like a nice package, but I really dont want a CR as low as 8.5 to 1, Im thinking like 10.5 or 11.5 to 1, Its gonna be a NA so I need the CR for more HP

Alright, did some math.

924S = 2.5ltr, 100b*79s
2.8 = 100b*88s
968 = 3.0ltr, 104b*88s

Since you have to overbore the cyls by 2mm (deep scratching you said), you are going to have a 2.9ltr engine using 88mm crank. You could have a 2.7 (2656cc) if you overbore to 103.5 w/ the stock crank. Do the work right and you can set compression up to 13:1.

Need more compression? shave the head back down. The 8.5 specs are on the idea you're turboing the motor.
