why a 924/944/968 ?

What made you purchase one of these models over the others?

For me it was I thought they were kind of the under dog of Porsches and i like under dogs.

I don't really like pre 90's 911's or anything with the 'bug' lights.

Probably wouldn't trade for one either.

I also know water-cooled cars better. The intro price is great as well which allows you to budget the repairs like a car payment.....I really like projects.....

I will own several more waterpumpers......

I bought my 944 because it was cheap and RWD. I didn't know much about the cars.

I've had mine for a few years now, sold it last night and the buyer is supposedly coming to pick it up and pay for it today One thing I'm really going to miss about it is the way the car just goes where you point it and how driver friendly it is. It's a very forgiving car with some bada$$ brakes!

I bought mine because I liked the way it looked first and then the way it drove.

Ive never much cared for the 911. I like them, but would never buy one unless it was newer.

I think the 944 is much more car for the money than some of the others. I would like a 928 though.

I bought mine first for the way it handles, second for the way it looks, third because it was cheap.

and because AUDI has won Lemans for the last few years...

I bought mine after having two kids thinking was time to trade the Audi TT for a sedan...thought a 944 would be a good "second" sports car. Couldn't part with the TT thou...now have 3 very impractical but FUN cars....

I didn't choose it. My wife surprised me with it on my 40th birthday.
That was ten years ago and I doubt if I'll ever sell it.

I got mine when I was 16, I wanted a project car and I found my 924S in a junk yard covered with weeds. I didnt know anything about it or that Porsche made other models besides the 911. Picked her up for $500 did a full engine rebuild and some TLC, I have fallen in love with the car and learned alot about it and porsches. I have owned it for 5 years now and still love it..... But if one of you guys wanna give up a 951...

I made the mistake of driving a family friend's 914 and ended up buying one of my own as a second car. Then my main car (a parental hand-me-down) finally rusted completely through in the rear floor at 217,000 miles and I got rid of it. For the same price as another Accord to replace it, I found a 924S. Then came my favourite set of famous last words... "A Porsche for the same price as an old Accord! How can I possibly lose?"

Love the waterpumper though. When it all came right down to it, the 914 is what I'm selling now that I'm moving away, though to be fair that's mainly dictated by practicality. Even with two trunks you can't fit a lot in the 914, but the 924S's hatch can swallow a lot.

I have sort of the same story...

but mine was 1500.... a little high for what I bought, but I had no idea about anything...

Now, I can't stand driving any other car because I find myself naturally taking turns like I am used to.

I have the sickness ..... ( ala Disturbed..naw Porsche )
