Tasty Antifreeze?
Since when is antifreeze delicious? I always thought it smelled bad, never considered actually tasting it....

Yea antifreeze taste sweet, thats why animals like it so much. I have never tried it myself but my mom always gets made if I leve some out because the cats will drink it and die

a kid that went to my highschool was recently killed on vacation when someone put antifreeze in his drink

well, I hope the murderer gets his (or her) just desserts (no pun intended)
as the article states, a bittering agent may not be a bad idea. can you imagine drinking something sweet that your ex (or whoever else hates you this week) concoted, never knowing what is about to hit you

.... Remembering my 1st year toxicology class........ (now that was a long time ago!)
Propylene Glycol is metabolized by alcohol dehydrogenase...... to the metabolite that causes the acidosis (can't remember the name) Whats interesting is that you can give ethanol as treatment for poisoning...... the ethanol competes with Propylene Glycol thus keeping it from producing the active poison. SO in theory ....... you should still have a chance if your ex decides to give you a vodka/coolant mix........ SO you see being a known alcoholic has its up sides. Your ex would never give you a non-alcoholic drink........ you would know something is up.....and in this case it may save you.

Coolant is yummy
I got about a tablespoonful of antifreeze in my mouth the other day (still alive), how bad is it? I'd say out of all the car liquids I like transmission oil the best as far as smell goes, some of the antifreeze that comes out of these cars smells nasty, the engine oil is kinda bad but tranny oil smell isnt too bad, anyone agree?

I had coolant on my lips once because i was draining it and it splashed. It did taste kinda good if i remember correctly ..i wasnt about to keep tasting it though.

"Old anti freeze picks up some of the smell/taste of the rubber hoses and such as well as some chemical change from age and temp. Pure anti freeze does taste sugary.
Nasty stuff. Never figured a good way to get rid of it except down the drain. Wonder what effect it has on the denizens living in the sewer?

We had a murder last week near where I live. A woman concocted a drink for her brother-in-law that contained pineapple juice, maraschino cherry juice, and antifreeze. He drank it on Wednesday and died on Friday, same week.

I noticed that Mobil 1 oil smells awful. Seemed to be worse than the normal oil I was using before.

Sometimes they will. I change my own oil and you would be surprised how often I take it to an AutoZone, Pep Boys or the like and they say "Sorry, the barrell is full". I imagine the antifreeze would get the same response.
And the law says they should take it..... Sorry for the cynicism.

when i take my oil to discount they make me sign a sheet that say i took it there in case someone acusses me of dumping it. and i though antifreeze companies already started putting bittering agents in it to make it not taste good to animals?

If you leave it at a quicky oil change place over night, they have no choice but to take it. They sell it anyways.
