This is great for stripped 12-pt bolts!!
BOLT GRIP from Irwin. Awesome for taking out stripped 12-pt bolts that you can't get a Vise Grip on. I got it from Advanced Auto Parts, Home Depot has em too.

Good for broken cam cover bolts, too (if they break above the flange). I got mine at Sears.

Yes, I was at Sears today. Sears has a MUCH better selection of these things.....alot of different sizes. I wish I wudda went there first...

yea, I use those all the time at work, they can really save you time, money and save you from a real headach, I love them, they even work on very rusty bolts

My experience with stripped 12-points indicates that it's usually only at the outer edge of the bolt that strips, usually due to not putting the socket in deep enough. I've tapped the socket in deeper with a hammer and have gotten the stripped 12-point bolts to come out. (At least, so far, knock on wood)
