A/C compressor question, also 1985.5 Turbo??
I was removing my alternator today and noticed that there was a valve on the line going from the compressor but really close to it, I read on another forum that on a 1986 951 the hogh and low pressure valves are right next to each other on the top by the driver's side, mine has 1 by the drivers side another by the compressor, is this ok?
Another thing is my VIN says I have a 1985 Porsche, because it has the letter F as in the FN45 part of the VIN number, but it's a Turbo, were there 1985.5 Turbos made? thanks. |
there seems to have been a few '85 turbos, but i can't find any information about them being produced for the states. i'm guessing it was a grey market car.
you can check this thread; http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-944-turbo-turbo-s/168889-daily-driving-951-a.html |
yes, there were 1985.5 turbos made. (the first "year" for the tubo) however, they were all sold as '86s

Hey,mine´s an ´85 one! ( I think september-october)
|
The 944 Turbo was introduced as a 1986 model. Porsche's model year starts in around September so cars produced in that month are usually (but not always) the new year model.
