Rent an American 944 substitute?
I am very happy with my 944. Unfortunately, someone backed into it last week, so it's going into the body shop for a few days. However, the insurance says they'll rent me a car from enterprise.
And a friend says that they are supposed to match the class, ie, luxury, compact, etc. The 944 is the only car I've ever owned, so I want to know what the best car in the same class I could rent at enterprise would be? I can forget about having a manual, I understand that. (but maybe tiptronic) Or maybe the best I'll get from them is a truck.

Miata...that's about it. Maybe an RX8 if you talk nice enough...that's as close as you'll get with current market vehicles.

i once had someone in an SUV back into my parked car and dent the front bumper. the insurance company said they'd rent me any car of my choice from enterprise with unlimited miles. i picked the top of the line cadillac they had and drove all over the state with it. i think i returned it with something like 1500 miles in two days.
try the new caddies, they're gas guzzlers but they're not too shabby.

Took mine into the dealer for clutch, belt and gasket work. They loaned me a car for 3 weeks. It was an Audi A6.

They had no idea that it would take a month to fix it. That was nice..

I say RX8. I've driven both, very comparable. And the auto RX8 is a damn good race with a 944 (don't ask me how I know
)

Given a choice, remember that you will pay for it yourself in the long run even if its not on the bill.. Its in their profit. Get something cheap..(accountant talking here)

I'm not sure what he means by that, actually. (the part about paying for it eventually)

NO! They gave me a Mazda Protoge. I'd never driven one, so I didn't know how bad it was. Ugh, that car should not be street-legal, and moreover, you may not EVER give that to a 944 driver.
I took it back the next day, and they gave me a 2004 Jetta w/ about 17k miles on it. I know it's not fast, and doesn't handle that well, but there were two things that I really liked about it: (1) it's SO QUIET, and (2) the stereo system is great. I wouldn't give up my 44 for it, but I could see having both.
