Custom work Question

Hey, I just wanted to run this by you guys, Im looking into doing a custom CAI (cold air intake), THis way I can get my cone filter out of the engine bay, My question is where could I go to have some custome ben pipes for me, I would love to have some stainless or Aluminum tubing mandel bent. Where should I go to ask. A metal shop, A exhaust shop, A hot rod shop ect, If you got any ideas please let me know. Thanx again guys :D

Ohh yea another question, I know that the length of the intake will change HP curves and stuff but by how much??? What would a long pipe do, what would a shorted pipe do? I hear that short pipes are good for high RPM operation and that long pipes make better torque down low, is this true???

Intake and exhaust lengths alter engine output...think about how marginally the exhaust changes the engine's output, the changes made by intake length are marginal compared to the exhaust.

the length of the tubing adjusts tohe power band's location...not it's length or output. Longer pipes lower it, shorter pipes raise it. But the effects are usually minimal.

The best place to go would be a muffler shop...unless you can weld yourself. If you can, then JCWhitney sells mandrel aluminzed steel that would be great for the project.

FWIW, it'd be a project I would love to take on if you can wait 2 weeks for a product. Shattered Glass is currently pretty well backed up with a header order from the RX7 community, so it'll be a while before I can put time in it.

Well I wanst thinking about welding it, I was gonna make it a 2 peace system. I would connect them Kinda like intercooler pipes are connected. It would be cool if we could come up with some good ideas.

A bit of welding would be necessary to make a flange that will attach to the air meter...unless the 924's just happens to have enough sticking out to put a silicone coupler on...

I dont have a AFM so I dont need to weld a flang
