passenger side window - no go

My passenger side window died on Sunday, nither the passenger side or the drivers side buttons would make it go up. I hoped (prayed) it was just a fuse and would check it when I got home. Later that day, it worked fine. Yesterday i took the car out, the window wouldnt go down, Picked up my wife, the window works fine.

Before, I tear into the door panel is there an obvious connector that may be loose? Has anyone had this problem before?

You probably can just clean the switch/connectors.

I second the cleaning of the switches. I had a similar problem, and replaced the switches, and has worked fine ever since.

I believe the passenger side switch works off of the one on the driver side. So if the driver side is bad, the one on the passenger side won't work either.

mine works same as siberian's window switches. i clean the switch out once in awhile when i get tired of leaning over to use the passenger button, i think im on the need of a new switch.

I've seen this one before, and it turned out to be the switch.

only takes a minute or two, to take the switch out. usually, the contacts are all blackened, and there is not good electrical contact. you can scrape them clean, and they will work fine for a while, but this is only a temporary fix.

I remember doing this on a somewhat weekly basis in an old BMW I had. Do I dare to see how much a new switch is.....

If the passenber window will work one way and not the other it's the switches. Sounds like you might need new ones. They do wear out.

You could try cleaning them. The later smaller window switches are much easier to clean as they do not have the bent ends on the contacts.

I had the same problem with mine the passenger side or the drivers side, neither one would open the passenger window.
turned out to be a loose conection on the driver side switch.

wow my old car did this! I replaced both switches to be sure that both sides would lower the window and I never had a problem after that. Also check the connections. Good Luck

I think the single switch is about $30, don't know about the double.
