Time & Balance belt inspection for S2

I recently purchased an 89 S2 Coupe...1 owner car with 95k miles on it. (bought from ebay through a broker) Changed spark plugs, chain cam chain tensioner (whole unit..even though old one looked ok), changed all fluids. Came with new alternator and fan belts and new brakes. Looks like the car has had proper interval maint. ...Have been investigating the timing and balance shaft belts since day 1. They appear to have been recently changed. Problems is I have not had contact with the original owner to know if this is fact. What do you look for on the belts to inspect them for age or wear..aside from cracks. Belts appear to be in excellent cond. ..no cracks...and have S2 still printed on them?? Just what to be sure and hate to spend money if they have just been changed.

If not sure on the age, change them. Cheap insurance.
You too might avoid this close call.

Belt disaster overted.

An improperly tensioned NEW timing belt is better than an old timing belt.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?
