Early 944 seats

Our 1984 944 Project car is about ready to have its interior redone. The problem we have is the drivers side seat foam is toast. We have found a used passengers seat from one of our used parts advertisers (www.dcautomotive) and are looking into if we could use the driver side hardware on the passenger seat to make everything work?

Let us know whether you have done this before!

Thanks,

Brian Minson

After looking at the seats in my living room, i think you'd probably be left with a few holes where you didnt want them, if you swap all the hardware.

This might give you some pointers, its an article on adding some new foam on top of the old foam, wrong year but it shows what is possible.

The early 944 seats can be swapped sided to side but this would put the seat back release on the inside rather than on the outside of the seat. Would also put the seat back angle setting lever on the inside.

Just get a set of seats out of an 86 or 87 and cut off the seat belt anchor. You could also do an artical about hooking up the electrical parts.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

take the foam out of the spare passenger seat and put it in your driver seat! My brother and I own a trim shop - we do it all the time! if you dont want to do that then you could probably take the passenger seat off the frame and switch it out that way, too!
