Angry HELP !!! 924 starts then cuts out

Help somebody, please.
My 924 has developed a fault, where it would start, run for about 30 seconds and then stall and die. Then it won't start immediatley-I have to leave it for a minute or two then it starts ok then it does the same thing (runs and dies). I have checked fuel pump/relay, changed filter, distributor/rotor, sparks ok. I took fuel line off distributor and got a big squirt when I turn ignition.

Your fuel tank may be corroded causing a blockage where the fuel exits the tank. The tank corrodes, falls to the bottom where the fuel exits and prevents the fuel from leaving the tank. Consider draining the tank and removing the in tank fuel pump. My guess is you will find a pile of crap in the tank explaining your problem.

Has this car been sitting a while? The fuel distributor will get rust inside and clog up. Pull an injector out put it in a bucket and try to start it. Does it continously spray fuel?

I was 2.5L mode.. You have probably forgotten more than I know about CIS and the 2.0L.. I'll leave this up to the others..

924 cuts out, Problem fixed

Thanks to all those people with their suggestions.
The reason for why the engine would cut out:
There is a flying lead coming out of the rubber boot on the connector for the Electronic Ignition Unit (brown in colour). The wire was attached to the body of the unit with a ring terminal and screwed to the unit body (presumably as an earth connection). The Unit is alloy and had corroded to the point where the lead was not making a connection.
